38. Sarah Todd: An Asia-Pacific Update
Show Notes

If there is one word that captures the essence of the Asia-Pacific region, that is “diversity.” Spanning multiple continents from one pole to the other, and connected by the largest ocean in the world, the region encompasses countless languages and cultures, as well as profoundly diverse demographics, levels of wealth, and different educational systems.

For international higher education, the challenge is how to leverage such variety so that cooperation and exchange can be enriched and flourish, rather than being hindered. Between the pandemic-induced closing of borders and various geopolitical rivalries, the challenges are real. Nonetheless, there is room for optimism and innovation, as we hear from Sara Todd, President of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE).
